A little history of Faïencerie de Gien:

The Faïencerie de Gien was founded in 1821 by Englishman Thomas Hall, who adapted English industrial techniques to create French earthenware. The factory experienced a "golden age" between 1850 and 1914, creating elaborate pottery that won numerous awards at the Universal Exhibitions.

saucière, or saucier boat, by Faïencerie de Gien is a French earthenware vessel for serving sauces. Made by the renowned Faïencerie de Gien in the Loire Valley, saucier boats are prized for their quality, artistry, and heritage.
