Utterly beautiful, square pedestal dish 'Burmah' from W.H. Grindley -- very rare piece from the 1880's with a gorgeous patina. It's in incredible condition for its age!
W.H. Grindley Burmah refers to an Aesthetic Movement pattern of brown transferware produced by W.H. Grindley & Co. in Tunstall, England, beginning in 1883. The design features Japanese-inspired imagery, including bamboo, water lilies, butterflies, and swallows. This popular pattern was created using earthenware and ironstone and was widely sold in North America and other markets.
